The programme highlight is edited highlights from In the Days of Saint Patrick / Aimsir Phádraig (1920), an ambitious silent-era feature film, made in Killester and elsewhere in North County Dublin, which reconstructs the life of Saint Patrick and is replete with miracles, snakes, slave markets and an exciting chariot race. “This remarkable historical picture is the outcome of Irish minds, hands and hearts, and presents the life of our patron saint with studied truth. It is a wonder picture for children.” – The Irish Times, March 1920.
