WILD STRAWBERRIES: ORDINARY PEOPLE

Director: Robert Redford

124 mins, USA, 1980, Digital

The late, great Donald Sutherland left behind a huge legacy of terrific performances, and had impressed a whole new generation too with his appearance in the Hunger Games franchise. This much earlier work, directed by Robert Redford, sees the actor alongside Mary Tyler Moore, as the middle-class couple whose lives fall apart after the death of their oldest son. It is tragic but also gripping, as the family wrestle to overcome their grief, each dealing with the fallout for themselves and their relationships.
