Narrative, the art of storytelling, has relevance for most of the fiction films we watch today. The conventional three-act-structure is the framework within which stories unfold.

In The Verdict, we follow the trials of an alcoholic lawyer making a last-ditch attempt to salvage his career. Dr. Diog O Connell will explore how the film’s structure sustains this dramatic narrative, with points of tension and cause and effect sequences built around its central character and themes.
