Wild Strawberries is our bi-monthly film club for over 55s.
This charming World War II drama offers an antidote to the weightier war-themed features now showing. Here folk are getting on with life despite the war, with plenty of pluck and steel.
Gemma Arterton excels in the role of a government screenwriter. Working on a risible propaganda feature, she proves herself capable of writing more than the women’s dialogue, and makes her presence felt among the cast of egos and cads, featuring Jeremy Irons and Bill Nighy.
Tickets: €4.25 including regular tea/coffee before the event. Wild Strawberries is our film club for over 55s. If you happen to look younger, please don’t take offence if we ask your age.
