The year has turned and January 2018 is upon us, with awards season ushering in a busy few months of highly anticipated movies.
Before all of that, we’re taking a look back at the biggest films of 2017 at the Irish Film Institute. It was a very exciting year for Irish and International releases, and that’s reflected in our list of the top 20 films of 2017, by box office takings.
The number one film might not come as a huge surprise, given how it exploded into cinemas back in July but there are plenty of other impressive performances to be found on the list, including a number of Irish films, filmmakers and acting talent. Meetings with Ivor managed a truly impressive rank!
