Enter the world of low-budget B-movie maestro Roger Corman, mentor of Coppola, Scorsese, Nicholson and De Niro and producer of over 350 films including, from his Irish stable, A Very Unlucky Leprechaun. This is the story of the film studio he established in Connemara in the early ‘90s and the 20+ films he made there – films like Dangerous Curves, Spacejacked and Bloodfist VII – which may have offended cinephiles but which employed hundreds of Irish crew, many of whom adored the experience.
With unique access to Corman, his crew and his archive of Irish films, Brian Reddin’s feature documentary is a wryly affectionate and utterly enjoyable homage to the man and his oeuvre.
