In the aftermath of a suicide attempt, autistic woman Jessie (Caoilfhionn Dunne) is brought to a house by the sea where she is encouraged to learn surfing by kindly carer (Domhnall Gleeson). Writer/Director Hugh O’Conor is astute in his mirroring of her perspective on the world and in portraying her discomfort with social interaction and allows moments of optimism as Jessie finds solace in her mastery of the waves.
