This tense, character-driven drama set on an English estate weaves its spell largely due to the wonderful, magnetic performance of Richard E. Grant as famed author J. M. Sinclair.

Residing with teenage son Bertie, and wife Hélène (Julie Delpy), the family are mourning the death of the favoured son, Felix. Into the mix comes tutor Liam (Daryl McCormack), himself an aspiring writer, hired to help Bertie. Naively or otherwise, Liam hopes to get inspiration from blocked writer Sinclair, while the family circle around him, weaving their own psychological mess, leading to revelations about their dark past.
