WILD STRAWBERRIES FILM

THE IRISH FILM INSTITUTE OPERATES A FILM CLUB FOR OLDER PEOPLE—CALLED ‘WILD STRAWBERRIES’ AFTER THE INGMAR BERGMAN FILM—SCREENING A FREE MOVIE EVERY MONTH.
Recent films have included The World’s Fastest Indian(2006), Girl with Green Eyes (1963), Brief Encounter (1945), Sideways (2004), Chinatown (1974), Babette’s Feast (1987), Sunrise (1926), Something’s Gotta Give (2003)—in other words they could be anything at all, old or new, from silent classics to sneak previews of New releases.
Now in its fourth year, Wild Strawberries guarantees a packed house almost every time. Operating much like a book club, the films are introduced and, time permitting, a discussion takes place after the event. The next screening is planned for Wednesday 28th June at 11a.m and this time around the film will be a complete surprise (something the club members specifically requested). Reservation essential.
