mischievous 13-year-olds who are outsiders within their own community and excluded from school. They encounter mercenary scrap metal dealer Kitten, who sees ways of exploiting Arbor’s greed for cash and Swifty’s skill with horses. The situation threatens to bring the boys into conflict, and put even more than their friendship at risk. This loose adaptation of an Oscar Wilde story won the Europa Cinemas Label as Best European film when it screened at Cannes 2013. It confirms Barnard’s status as the most striking and exciting new voices to emerge in British cinema in recent years.
