One of Ireland’s most respected and established filmmakers, Jim Sheridan’s consistent focus on strong visual and emotional storytelling has yielded some enduring and memorable characters. For our Evening Course he will present this extraordinary film, concerning the Algerian National Liberation Front and the violent struggle for independence from France. In conversation with lecturer and writer Dr. Ruth Barton, the director will discuss how the film influenced In the Name of the Father, and his own approach to bringing stories to screen.
