WORLD PREMIERE
Jury’s Award – Best Short – Bloody Good Headline (directed by Tom Burke and Paul Quinn)
Many shorts from the Bord Scannán na hÉireann/Irish Film Board scheme, Reality Bites, have gone on to play at major festivals and win international awards, and this year’s batch is as strong as ever.
The programme features Tom Burke and Paul Quinn’s Bloody Good Headline, on Dublin newspaper sellers; Under Open Skies by Ben Jones is a nostalgic look at handball alleys; and 7th Son, by Narayan Van Maele, focuses on the magical healing powers of the seventh son. Expect strong images, great stories and at least a few laughs.
All shorts are in competition. Check out the line up of shorts featured in the Documentary Shorts event on Saturday, September 27th (13.30).
This event is part of the IFI Stranger Than Fiction Documentary Film Festival (September 25th – 28th 2014).
