Quackser Fortune has a Cousin in the Bronx

Director:

U.S. Colour| 1970| 90 mins

A year before he found world-wide fame as Willy Wonka, Gene Wilder starred as a horse manure collector who falls for Margot Kidder, an upper class American studying in Trinity College. In addition to Wilder’s eccentric turn the film has some great scenes at the Trinity Ball, the Gravediggers pub, Kavanagh’s in Prospect Square and at the back gate of Glasnevin cemetery. This film was recently donated to the Archive by collector Paul Balbirnie giving Irish audiences a rare chance to enjoy this off beat comedy.
