PLANET TERROR

Director: Robert Rodriguez

U.S.A.| 2007. COLOUR. ANAMORPHIC. DOLBY DIGITAL STEREO. 35MM. 105 MIN.

Following Tarantino’s Death Proof, we now have Robert Rodriguez’s gory portion of the original ‘Grindhouse’ double-feature. It tracks a number of characters in the course of one suburban evening, when a dubious exchange between a testicle-chomping mercenary and the US military results in an army of flesh-eating zombies descending on a town. It’s unlucky for go-go dancer Cherry Darling (Rose McGowan), who was making her getaway before she bumped into her ex, El Ray (Freddy Rodriguez). Meanwhile, JT Hague (Jeff Fahey) runs The Bone Shack and is trying to perfect his recipe for barbecue sauce. When Sheriff Hague (Michael Biehn) seeks refuge at the restaurant with a number of the unaffected, his priorities change as the place becomes a magnet for the undead. Get your dose of chills and thrills by the bucket load here: Planet Terror is wild, bloody and delirious fun. A fitting end to Horrorthon 2007.
