German filmmaker Tomas (Franz Rogowski) is finishing a shoot in Paris; at the wrap party, his British husband Martin (Ben Whishaw) leaves early, and Tomas spends the night with Agathe (Adèle Exarchopoulos), a young woman working on the production, an experience he excitedly shares with his husband. Martin, grown weary of his impulsive, boundary-defying husband, cannot share Tomas’s enthusiasm. Before long, Tomas has moved in with Agathe, yet can’t conceive of a life without Martin. Ira Sachs elicits marvelous performances from his exemplary cast, with the magnetic Rogowski as the volatile, destructive Tomas, being especially memorable.

There will be Open Captioned screenings on Monday 4th at 13.00 and Wednesday 6th at 20.30.
