IRISH FOCUS: ANIMATION AT THE EDGE Director: NAOMI WILSON 52 mins, Ireland, 2002-2025, 35mm & Digital Book cinema tickets Four films and a series of vignettes (2002-2025) playfully explore the world of folktale and magical thinking. Embedded in the landscape of West Clare, the films are situated at the westernmost edge of Europe and also the edge of folk memory. Drawings in sand and puppets on cliffs combine with soundscapes and music by artist/musician Brian Doyle, creating work with a unique mesmeric quality. Images flicker, fragile and transient, scratchy and aged, an emissary from another era.
