Featuring a pre-Barbie Ryan Gosling and another brilliant, sensitive performance from Michelle Williams. Husband and wife Dean and Cindy are a couple with a young daughter, whose mutual regard has faded over the years. Dean books a hotel night to try and rekindle passion, and moving between past and present, we see the beginnings of a deep love and how life and times have whittled it down. Terrific performances, beautifully shot, in this emotional film.
