Director: MOHAMED BEN ATTIA

TUNISIA | 2016 | 88 MINS | DIGITAL SUBTITLED

This film screened 12th November 2016.

This screening is part of the Dublin Arabic Film Festival 2016.

The contrasts between traditional and modern value systems in contemporary Tunisia are imaginatively explored through the titular character’s relationships in this engaging romantic drama. Hedi (Majd Mastoura) is a rudderless young man drifting through life without energy or ambition. Not only is he failing in his role as a travelling sales rep for Peugeot, he is also sleepwalking into a marriage, orchestrated by his domineering mother, that he has no interest in pursuing.

His horizons broaden when he meets and falls for the spirited Rym on a work trip, but can Hedi pull his life out of its tailspin long enough to retain her interest?
