Gays Against Guns

Director: Paul Rowley

Emerging as a powerful community response to the Pulse nightclub massacre in Orlando, Florida in 2016, this film takes us to the front lines of the gun violence epidemic in the USA. Over eight years, the film follows these inspiring LGBTQ+ activists who utilise the theatrical tactics that were forged during the AIDS crisis and the fight for Marriage Equality – to take on the might of the gun industry and the NRA.

Interwoven with powerful protests are moving survivor stories, and the perspective of the filmmaker, an Irish immigrant, who offers a unique insight into what has happened to their ‘gay American dream’.
