Its crew are on the lookout for boats in distress, bringing refugees to safety and offering shelter to survivors. Filmmaker-photographer Jean-Baptiste Bonnet spent two months documenting their aid work, from rescue to disembarkation. Refugees share their harrowing escape stories, forging deep bonds with their rescuers while waiting to dock at a safe port in Europe.
