(DES PREUVES D’AMOUR)

Married lesbian couple Céline (Ella Rumpf) and pregnant Nadia (Monia Chokri) await the arrival of their first child. While joyful, this is tough for Céline, who, not being the birth mother, must follow a legal process to be recognised as one of the mothers, gathering “proofs of love” through testimonies from friends and, most challengingly, a letter from her estranged mother (Noémie Lvovsky). Douard’s tender comedy-drama explores the challenges of birth, motherhood, and the universality of the family unit.
