Dumbo

Director: SAMUEL ARMSTRONG, NORMAN FERGUSON

64 minutes, U.S.A., 1941, ANIMATION-MUSICAL

Showing in conjunction with The Ark’s Roll Up, Roll Up! Celebration of Circus programme, here’s a rare chance to see the much-loved story of flying Dumbo, his friend Timothy Mouse and their circus adventures.

This Disney Classic follows the story of a young elephant who was given the name “Dumbo” because of his oversized ears. With his friend, Timothy Mouse they come to the realization that Dumbo’s ears can act as wings, making him a flying elephant! Terrific animation and music, including the famous Pink Elephants sequence, make this a Disney Classic.

After the film, we’ll project the webcam which overlooks Dublin Zoo’s Kaziranga Forest Trail.  Operations Manager Gerry Creighton will be here to tell us about looking after the Zoo’s Asian Elephants.  Let’s hope we see them!

These films are screening as part of the IFI Family Festival 2013 (July 11th – 14th).
