One episode of the Made in America series Gilsenan directed focussing on American authors (such as Gore Vidal, Patricia Cornwell, Garrison Keillor) reflecting on the cities they call home. Here African-American icon Marsha Hunt, novelist, memoirist, singer and actor, considers her complex relationship with Philadelphia, the city where she spent her childhood and discusses the complexities of  colour, democracy and capitalism in the United States, linking them to the history of slavery.
