Have you ever considered a career in filmmaking?
As part of this year’s IFI Stranger Than Fiction Festival, we were delighted to present, in partnership with the Irish Film Board/Bord Scannáin na hÉireann, in-depth conversations and panel discussions with several filmmakers attending the Festival. From our special guest Jeanie Finlay giving a masterclass on Connecting with Modern Audiences, to Cathal Gaffney and Havana Marking sharing their tips on Building an International Documentary Company, these events attracted both young and established filmmakers willing to share their experiences. Our free masterclasses, Creating with Archive, exploring how archive and found footage can be intertwined with other elements to amazing storytelling effect, and Breaking into Documentary with documentary makers about making the first steps in a documentary career, both have made an important addition to our Festival programme.
Listen back to the panel discussions and share with other filmmakers – it’s all about learning from one another!
