The John Paul Getty III kidnap story, the subject of a recently-aired TV series with Donald Sutherland as the megalomaniac oil billionaire, was given big screen attention in this gripping mystery thriller, with Christopher Plummer in a role re-cast after Kevin Spacey’s fall from grace.

Despite familiarity, there is a fascination still in watching the rarified world of extreme wealth versus the impoverished, desperate criminal, and a mother’s unstinting love, determined as she is to save her son.
