In 1971 critic and aspiring filmmaker Peter Bogdanovich made the documentary Directed by John Ford, including candid interviews with John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Henry Fonda and Ford himself. In 2006 Bogdanovich revised the documentary and included contemporary interviews with Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg and Clint Eastwood.
