FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL: LEOS CARAX: IN CONVERSATION

Leos Carax will take part in a director In Conversation event with Paul Whitington on Saturday, November 18th, 12.30–13.30.
Paul Whitington is a film critic and columnist for the Irish independent, and a regular contributor to RTÉ’s arts show Arena.
Writer-director Leos Carax (1960, France) started as a film critic, and made his directorial debut Boy Meets Girl in 1984, presented at the Cannes Critic’s Week. Followed Mauvais Sang (Bad Blood, 1986), Les Amants du Pont Neuf (The Lovers on the Bridge, 1991) and Pola X (1999). In 2008, he participated at the anthology film Tokyo! which screened at Un Certain Regard in Cannes. Holy Motors was selected in Official Competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 2012. And in 2021, he won the Best Director award at the Cannes Film Festival with Annette, starring Marion Cotillard and Adam Driver. The film also won three Lumière awards and five Césars, including the one for Best Director.
