IFI DOCUMENTARY FESTIVAL 2024: IFI SPOTLIGHT & IN REAL LIFE PANEL – WATCHING DOCS – A CONVERSATION

Director: n/a

Following their successful events at the Dublin Film Festival, Docs Ireland and Electric Picnic, In Real Life partners with IFI Spotlight to present a special IFI Documentary Festival event exploring the ever-evolving role of documentary in cinema, streaming and TV.

Join us for a panel conversation with four senior industry professionals who develop and commission documentaries:
Colm O’Callaghan (Interim Group Head of Factual, RTÉ) and Sinead Stimpfig (Head of Commissioning and Acquisitions, Virgin Media TV), Niamh Fagan (Project Manager, Screen Ireland), and Jo Budzilowicz (Development Executive, Dogwoof one of the UK’s most prominent documentary distributors) and Prionsias Ní Ghráinne (Commissioning Editor, TG4). This conversation will be hosted film-maker Tom Burke (Losing Alaska, The Gap In Consent).

This forward-looking informative conversation, with topics ranging from documentary audiences to trends in technology and ethics, should interest anyone with a passion for documentary filmmaking.

In Real Life is a Screen Ireland-supported project run by Derek O’Connor & Luke McManus developing audiences for documentary cinema, with a particular focus on events and the theatrical experience. IFI Spotlight is a public-facing forum reviewing all aspects of the Irish film and television landscape.

Followed by refreshments and networking chats in IFI Café Mezzanine.

This panel discussion is part of IFI Documentary Festival 2024.
