Martin Bengtsson is a 70 year old Englishman who resides at the base of the Knockmealdown mountains, on the Cork/Tipperary county borders. Fifty-six dogs live in the farmhouse, thirty cats roam the three acre farm while Geraldine the goat has a field to herself. Martin lives in a caravan beside the farmhouse. With no transport and a state pension of only 110 euro a week, Martin supplements his income by forging 19th Century painters to meet his
weekly 300 euro animal food bill. His other obsessions include the hunt for Hitler’s Silver Arrow racing car in Bonn and his involvement in the Peter Mandelson/ Hinduja’s brothers scandal, not to mention his career as a stunt man working in spaghetti westerns alongside James Coburn. Shane Moloney’s affectionate documentary charts the world of a true eccentric.
