Director: Régis Roinsard

France/Belgium, 2012, Comedy/Romance, 111 mins, English subtitles

We continue our tour of this delightfully perceptive French title concerning country girl Rose who moves to Paris to become a secretary. While she may lack secretarial prowess, her boss (Romain Duris) notices her typing skills. The glamorous 1950s costumes and period details make this a charming film. Points are made about opportunities for women but always through humour and subtlety. Study guide themes include women’s rights, technology and fashion.
