Since its introduction in April 2017, the IFI’s Mystery Matinee strand has become one of its most popular. Every month, for just €6, you are invited to put your Sunday lunchtime in the hands of the IFI programmers for a secret screening that come from any point in the history of film, including the future.

Previous Mystery Matinees have included preview screenings of Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird, David Lowery’s A Ghost Story, Lenny Abrahamson’s The Little Stranger, and Paul Dano’s Wildlife, alongside classic screenings of George Medford’s 1931 Drácula, Sidney Gilliat’s Green for Danger, and Stanley Kramer’s Inherit the Wind, plus cult classics including John Carpenter’s Starman, Alexander Payne’s Citizen Ruth and Herk Harvey’s Carnival of Souls.
