A screening of silent film from the archive, Come on Over, with live piano accompaniment by John Sweeney in the Barbican Cinema and presented by Head of Irish Film Programming at the IFI, Sunniva O'Flynn
A special screening to mark St. Patrick’s Day, the Barbican presents Alfred E. Green’s story of the feisty Moyna Killilea (Colleeen Moore), who travels across the sea from Lisdoonvarna to follow her sweetheart (Ralph Graves) to a New York boarding house. A series of misunderstandings and adventures ensue, featuring high society dames, a formidable landlady, Irish cops and drunken layabouts, all climaxing at a ceilidh.
With a cast full of lively characters, this riotous comedy Irish gem has not been seen before in U.K. cinemas.
