A Serbian zombie movie? Why the hell not! Zone of the Dead stars genre icon Ken Foree, star of Romero’s Dawn of the Dead, as an Interpol agent escorting a prisoner through zombie-infested Pancevo. It’s a real curio, and a total blast. Did we mention that Ken Foree will be in the house to introduce the screening? A bona fide Horrorthon cult hero, Mr. Foree has done it all, from roles in Stuart Gordon’s batty From Beyond and Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, to a voiceover gig in Grand Theft Auto – these days, he’s a Rob Zombie regular, with roles in The Devil’s Rejects, the 2007 Halloween remake and forthcoming animated feature The Haunted World of el Superbeasto. To the faithful demented, however, he’ll always be gentle giant Peter Washington, the National Guardsman holed up in a Pittsburgh shopping mall under siege from ever-increasing hordes of undead consumers; indeed, Foree was one of the original Dawn of the Dead cast members invited to cameo in Zach Snyder’s kinetic 2004 remake.
