This classic adaptation of Daphne du Maurier’s novel comes to us in a new print. Produced by David O Selznick, it was Hitchcock’s first American film and it reminds us of his unerring ability to convey atmosphere, mystery and tension.
With faultless performances by Laurence Olivier as Maxim de Winter and Joan Fontaine as the heroine, the film is unforgettable for the image of Mrs Danvers standing at the top of the stairs, making no effort to conceal her hostility. A truly great film from the master of cinema.

Tickets €4 including regular tea/coffee.

Booking from May 1 through IFI Box Office by phone 01 6793477 or in person.
