Wild Strawberries is our monthly film club for older people. The screenings are free of charge for anyone over 50 but tickets should be booked well in advance. In 1974 a young Frenchman named Philippe Petit broke into the World Trade Centre in New York to commit a highly illegal and audacious act which stunned the world and captured the imagination of many. In cloudy conditions, he stepped off the roof of the South Tower to complete his ambition of wire-walking forty-five metres between the world’s two tallest buildings. At times more heist movie than documentary, this award-winning film tells an inspirational story with an energetic mix of archive footage, photos and interviews.
