Wild Strawberries is our bimonthly film club for the over 55s.

After our summer Wild Strawberries season of comedy and romance, we turn to France now for this title from writer, heart-throb actor and director Guillaume Canet, his third feature following the hit Tell No One. François Cluzet stars as a successful restaurant owner who with his wife invites their group of friends to their gorgeous beach house each year to mark the start of the holidays. This time, however, just as the trip is about to get started, their friend Ludo is seriously injured in an accident in Paris. This leads to a series of revelations and emotional responses as each tries to come to terms with what has happened. Led by Marion Cotillard as Marie and Gilles Lellouche as Eric, the group of friends watch their close circle fall apart under the weight of events. This engrossing story shows off some of France’s best talent in a highly engaging film.
