What better way to ring out the old year than with a few good laughs and a trip down Irish cinema’s memory lane with this comedy classic from 1938? It stars Jimmy O’Dea as Billy Branagan, an out-of-work mechanic turned door-to-door salesman, whose selling ground is the border region in post-partition Ireland. Writer and director Harry O’Donovan hilariously sends up the absurdities of a border running through small towns in the adventures that befall Branagan when his suitcase gets mixed up with that of a gang of jewel thieves.

€4 including regular tea/coffee.

Other classics showing throughout December include It’s a Wonderful Life, The Red Shoes and The Shop around the Corner.
