Irish Film Institute -WILD STRAWBERRIES: BERNIE

WILD STRAWBERRIES: BERNIE

Director: Richard Linklater

99 minutes, U.S.A., 2011, Comedy/Crime/Drama

Wild Strawberries is our bi-monthly film club for over 55s.

A highly original film that depicts the straight-acting skills of funny man Jack Black, the diversity and verve of director Richard Linklater, and the durability and scathing brilliance of Shirley MacLaine, Bernie is about a locally loved mortician (Black) in small town Texas who nurtures a friendship with a wealthy widow (MacLaine). Based on a true story, this is a film with dark humour and some poignancy that will keep you guessing.

€3.85 per person including regular tea or coffee before the screening. Please note: Wild Strawberries is our film club for over 55s. If you are lucky enough to look younger, please don’t take offence if we ask your age.

IFI has changed from a monthly schedule to a weekly schedule. Screening times of New Releases and IFI Classics will now be announced on a weekly basis. Read our news item here.
