The Wrecking Crew was the name given to a group of studio musicians in Los Angeles who, during the 1960s, played on hits for the likes of The Beach Boys, Nancy Sinatra, Sonny and Cher, The Monkees, The Byrds and The Mamas & The Papas, and were hired to create Phil Spector’s Wall of Sound. Though their names didn’t appear on those records, they had notoriety as the go-to-guys for L.A. studio sessions and their music defined an era.

Produced and directed by Denny Tedesco, son of legendary Wrecking Crew guitarist Tommy Tedesco, this superb film follows the formula of winning rock docs such as Standing in the Shadows of Motown and 20 Feet from Stardom in affording credit to those who have been edged out of the limelight, and features wonderful interviews with Brian Wilson, Cher, Nancy Sinatra, Herb Alpert, Glen Campbell, Micky Dolenz and Roger McGuinn, as well as Crew members themselves.
