Another highlight is the Irish premiere of this new American version of the Japanese ghost story phenomenon Ju-on. Produced by Sam Raimi, The Grudge draws on the Japanese original and its three sequels. Directed by Takashi Shimizu and set in Japan, it stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Bill Pullman and Jason Behr. Gellar plays an American nurse living and working in Tokyo who is exposed to a mysterious supernatural curse that locks a person into a powerful rage before claiming their life and spreading like a virus to another victim.
