Irish Film Institute -THE CRITICAL TAKE

THE CRITICAL TAKE

In August, the IFI’s free monthly film club, The Critical Take, will discuss three very different new releases: In a Better World, winner of Best Foreign Language Film at this year’s Academy Awards; Knuckle, Ian Palmer’s study of the tradition of bare-knuckle boxing in the Traveller community; and Project Nim, the new documentary from the Oscar-winning maker of Man on Wire about an ill-fated experiment to teach a chimpanzee to communicate with humans.

Our three panellists will be Director of Project Arts Centre Willie White, Script Consultant and Arts Journalist Mary Kate O’Flanagan and IFI Head of Education Alicia McGivern. Even if you haven’t seen all three films, come along and join in the debate!

The Critical Take is a free but ticketed event. Simply book your seat by calling the IFI Box Office on 01 679 3477.
