Social workers Caroline and Colette are at the front line in dealing with the non-stop arrival of asylum seekers to France. Two very different women, they respond in distinctive ways to the often overwhelming needs of the arrivals. The film relates the tense confrontations between the women and the newcomers in which each defends his or her own situation.
