Organised in conjunction with the Goethe-Institut to mark the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Tickets for the final individual session (screening and talk) cost €12.

Our final film in the series deals with the effects of the former East German totalitarian regime. The last to know about the details of the horrific realities of imprisonment are the family members of East Germany’s former political prisoners. This intense documentary features four – out of approximately 250,000 – of the former prisoners, and attempts to tackle the impact imprisonment had on their lives and those of their families. The film will be presented by film curator and underground filmmaker Claus Loser. After the screening, Denis Staunton, The Irish Times journalist in Berlin in 1989, will join a panel discussion on the topic of Germany twenty years after the fall of the Wall.
