TALES FROM EARTHSEA

Director: Goro Miyazaki

JAPAN • 2006 • COLOUR • 115 MIN

Explore the world through Japanese animation.
Fantasy fans will love this adaptation of Ursula Le Guin’s third Earthsea novel. Goro Miyazaki, son of legendary Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki, makes his first film for the famed Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle). Featuring some of the marvellous imagery that we have come to associate with the Ghilbi films, it’s a story of an old wizard, Sparrowhawk, who takes a young, wayward prince under his wing and advises him as he goes about his journey. They travel across oceans, lakes and deserts in this visual treat which must be seen on the big screen.
