STF: Sins of my Father

IRISH PREMIERE
Nicolas Entel’s Sins of my Father is an extraordinary examination of the life of Pablo Escobar as seen through the eyes of his only son, Sebastian Marroquin. Escobar was the most notorious drug lord in Colombian history, whose reign of terror and violence killed hundreds of people from all walks of life. In agreeing to appear in this film, he and his mother, Maria Victoria, break more than a decade of silence after living in virtual exile in Argentina.

It is the first time either has spoken about Escobar since he was gunned down in 1993. Unsurprisingly, Marroquin has been deeply affected by his father’s actions and the film shows him grappling with the task of reconciling his conflicting images of him – one, the doting father and family man, the other, the stone-hearted drug trafficker and murderer.
