Registration for this July 9th free online event is available HERE.

To Inclusivity and Beyond: Gender, Diversity and Inclusion Standards in Ireland.

IFI Spotlight 2021 focuses on development of a film and television culture that is inclusive, diverse and accessible by audiences regardless of race, ethnicity, class, physical ability, sexual identity or gender.

This session looks at progress with Screen Ireland and BAI initiatives in achieving gender parity in film and television production.  The session will look more broadly at ways to ensure greater participation in the cultural arena by members of minority groups and the need for development and implementation of Diversity and Inclusion Policies across a range of cultural practitioners.

Sheila de Courcy (researcher, writer, formerly of RTÉ) will host a panel which will investigate the current film, tv and wider cultural landscape and will invite panellists to discuss strategies for change.

The panel will include:

  • Maureen Kennelly (Director, Arts Council)
  • Stephanie Comey (Senior Manager, Broadcasting Authority of Ireland)
  • Lesley McKimm (Project Manager, Screen Ireland)
  • Sandrine Ndahiro (PhD student University of Limerick, co-producer Unsilencing Black Voices)
