Mei is an enigmatic young Chinese woman whose longing for a different life takes her from her Chinese village to England. Drifting and rootless yet learning more about herself all the time, we sense that what she leaves behind is as important as what she is moving towards. This cross-cultural story has a freshness and style with a soundtrack by PJ Harvey collaborator, John Parish.
