OFFICE SPACE

Director: MIKE JUDGE

U.S.A. • 1999 • COLOUR • DIGITAL VIDEO • 89 MIN

Ten years ago this hilarious take on office life was a hit in America but was never released in Ireland. Long before Ricky Gervais unleashed his particular version of office life, Mike Judge, who is best known as the creator of Beavis and Butt-Head and King of the Hill, showed the absurdities that could be found in work practices aimed at making people more efficient, increasing output and reducing staff. Now enjoying cult status, Office Space features Ron Livingston as Peter Gibbons, a young computer programmer who hates his job. ‘Since I started working, every single day has been worse than the day before,’ Peter tells his therapist, ‘so that every day you see me is the worst day of my life.’ Jennifer Aniston plays a disaffected waitress whom Peter worships from afar.
