This devastating new drama from stalwart Anne Fontaine portrays 24 hours in the life of a Paris police department, as seen from the different perspectives of three characters (a stellar cast played by Virginie Efira, Grégory Gadebois and Omar Sy) who need to decide the fate of Tajikistani asylum seeker, Tohirov (Payman Maadi), as they escort him to Charles de Gaulle airport for deportation. As they try make an unbearable decision on his fate, we get a glimpse into their personal lives away from the daily incidents of violence in homes and on the streets.

Versatile director Anne Fontaine (The Innocents; Pure as Snow), in adapting the book Police by Hugo Boris, draws imposing and sensitive performances from her actors, and with brilliant, atmospheric photography by Yves Angelo, brings us an immersive night-lit climax of rare intensity and emotion.
