La Fille De L’Air

Director: Maroun Bagdadi

Beatrice Dalle gives a top performance as the true-life heroine Nadin Vaujour, who 1986 stunned France with the prison rescue of her longtime convict husband Michel Vaujour (Thierry Fortineau). Their story, which fired the imagination of the French was written by Florence Quentin (Tati Danielle, Life is a Long Quiet River) and directed with great panache by Maroun Bagdadi whose Hors La Vie also deatlt with the theme of freedom against all odds, and who here succeeds with a carefully composed thrilled, strong on suspense and action, a nail-biting rescue and great performances, not least from Hippolyte Girardot in a supporting role.
